#SixSunday – January Black #3

Thank you, everyone, for leaving comments. I enjoyed reading them from the road as during my family’s 6000 mile road trip to California, Wyoming, and back. We’ve been back for a few days and I’m still out of sorts. If anyone is interested in winning a FREE copy of a Lynn Rush ebook, or a signed copy of a new release by Sasha Summers, check out the 2012 Book Fair posts below.

Now…onto my six.

Last week, Iris was praying that Matty hadn’t opened the forbidden door in the palace. This is immediately after.

Sunset glowed through an open doorway. The smell of jasmine and moist earth kicked her in the stomach.

Oh, God, he opened it.

Iris stumbled.

She fell.

Her hands and knees stung as she landed on the floor.

Please check out the other talented writers participating in this week’s Six Sentence Sunday. These are some of my favorites: Sarah Ballance, Krystal Wade, Monica Enderle Pierce, Siobhan Muir, Sarah W., Steven Montano, and Goran Zidar.

  1. Great motion and emotion in this, Wendy, and the choice of “kicked” in association with earth and jasmine completely surprised and intrigued me.
