#SixSunday – January Black #5

Last week, Iris realized that she led the agents that would arrest Matty right to him. I’ve jumped ahead a bit. Here, Matty is being dragged out of the garden.

[Matty] snapped his attention to [Iris]; his eyes were wide with defiance and fear. “January Black, Iris!”

She thrust herself at him and growled through her teeth in frustration when Conrad’s grip on her arms held firm.

Wrenching his body backward, Matty nearly broke himself free of the agents.

“January Black!” he repeated before his captors regained control.

Iris glanced back down the hallway to the open doorway, to a vague shape silhouette against the dusk sky, and thought, I hope you found what you were looking for.

Please check out the other talented writers participating in this week’s Six Sentence Sunday. These are some of my favorites: Sarah Ballance, Krystal Wade, Monica Enderle Pierce, Siobhan Muir, Sarah W., Steven Montano, and Goran Zidar.
