I’ve been giving you some of Briar’s very lowest moments, so today, I thought I’d give you a brighter one. This conversation is told in Charles Enwert’s POV. He’s one of the knights assigned to escort Briar on the Ruby String mission, and it takes place shortly before before the prince finds Jiadexin behind the wardrobe. Briar is bored and is trying to goad the knights into gossip. Charles would prefer they not talk about the king and queen, which only encourages the young prince. Briar has the first line below.
“It is rumored that his Excellency, the king, has kept women…”
“…please, don’t…”
“…and mom couldn’t care less, because he isn’t bugging h—”
“Have you no decency?!” Charles snapped at the prince.
Briar laughed heartily and said, “I’m not even into the good stuff yet.”
Please check out the other talented writers participating in this week’s Six Sentence Sunday. These are some of my favorites: Sarah Ballance, Krystal Wade, Monica Enderle Pierce, Siobhan Muir, Sarah W., Pippa Jay, Kelly Seguin, Steven Montano, and Goran Zidar.
Great six! I wonder what else is going on. 🙂
Everyone likes a bit of gossip. 😀
Sassy! Love the quick dialog here. Very realistic. Great 6!
Ahh com’on! You didn’t even give us the good stuff yet!! lol Great 6 Wendy.
Hmm. Is Briar trying to find out what people think? Trying to trap someone? Or just having fun? Time will tell. Great six, Wendy!
I like Briar’s spirit! great post!
Briar needs a slap! Preferably with Charles Enwert’s mailed glove :).
I like seeing this side of Briar – – and Charles’ outrage. Great six!
I want to hear the good stuff, too!
You know, going back and seeing how relatively carefree he was is a bit poignant, knowing how things will change . . .
Nice, the way you have them overlapping and interrupting each other.
Love the way the dialog snaps – very realistic. Terrific six!
Great sense of mischief he has! Always a plus in a prince.
Wonderfully authentic dialog. I’m a huge fan of your writing, Wendy. Great six!
LOL, fun 6! Nice to see him having some levity. Great dialogue!
Prince or no prince, it sounds like he might get into more trouble than he wants if he pushes much more. Good six, Wendy. 🙂
I missed this last week. Briar is such a perfect name for him! 😀 I’m excited to see how this character turns from child to man.
